New Year, New You: A Two-Part Series on Health and Wellness
This is the first part of a two-part series focusing on you, the individual. In Part 2, we will explore the Health and Wellness of Your Business, ensuring both you and your organization are set up for a productive and successful 2025.
Part 1: Prioritizing You – Your Personal Health and Wellness
- Start with Health Check-Ups
- Schedule a full physical with your doctor to ensure there are no underlying issues that need to be addressed.
- Don’t skip your dental and eye exams.
- Men: Ensure you’ve had a prostate exam.
- Women: Schedule a breast exam.
- Join a Holistic Gym
- Look for a gym that focuses on the spirit, mind, and body. A true wellness experience goes beyond physical fitness by fostering mental clarity, emotional well-being, and spiritual grounding.
- Clean Up Your Nutrition
- Clean eating means consuming foods as close to their original state as possible.
- Eat an apple, not applesauce.
- Eat a banana, not banana pudding.
- Shop the perimeter of the grocery store: focus on fresh fruits, vegetables, and lean meats.
- Avoid processed foods with hard-to-pronounce ingredients.
- Clean eating means consuming foods as close to their original state as possible.
- Incorporate Daily Cardio
- Commit to at least 30 minutes of cardio every day.
- Walking is simple, accessible, and excellent for cardiovascular health, weight management, and mood.
- Add Strength Training
- As you get older, your muscle strength naturally declines. Incorporating regular strength training helps maintain muscle mass, improves mobility, and supports overall health.
- Include Prayer or Meditation
- Ground yourself mentally and emotionally with daily moments of mindfulness, prayer, or meditation.
